This week I am thinking of trying a couple more virtual labs. We will have a normal overview discussion to start the week and then move on to the more interactive material. I am hoping that we are able to complete the Energetics Unit before the break and I fully believe we can have it done by the middle of next week, without any problem. So the week should look like this:
Sunday - Photosynthesis lecture (please try to have notes on Chapter 10 done early)
Monday - Virtual Lab 1
Tuesday - Virtual Lab 2 (a handout with a few links and sections)
Wednesday - Photosynthesis lecture
Thursday - Overview
This is a special week for me because my little sister has a presentation for you. She has never been to Egypt (or anywhere I moved to really) so this is a big deal for me. She is brilliant and excited to meet you. It's a very happy week for me.
Sunday - Test Cellular Respiration (notes Chapter 9 due)
Monday - Photosynthesis starts
Tuesday - Parent Teacher Conference Day (tell them to come!)
Wednesday - My sisters presentation (don't miss it!)
Thursday - No School
Well, that is the hardest Quarter of AP Biology over and done with...congrats and well done!
Now to get onto the interesting stuff...food. Well, basically what is the reason for food (what makes something food) and why do we need it? Where does it actually come from?
Energetics is great fun because is like to little factories that run in sequence. One makes the fuel for the other, which gives back the part to make it happen again. I just love it.
Sunday - Poster
Monday - Poster
Tuesday - Cellular Respiration
Wednesday - Cellular Respiration
Thursday - Posters due, more Cellular Respiration!
So you survived the first Quarter...you should be proud of yourselves. In my opinion that is the hardest Quarter in AP Biology. Biochem hurts, and the pace adjustment is never fun. Now you start feeling more confident in your skills and understand a bit more of what is expected of you. It gets easier...really.
With the end of the Quarter on us we are going to complete our Intro to Energetics. We will probably have a day outside again, I love those days...Socratic Method is so much fun (without the walking sadly). No test this week, only effective marks and test corrections due.
Sunday - Finish Prezi
Monday - Start Large Scale Energetics Project (LSEP)
Tuesday - LSEP
Wednesday - LSEP
