There isn't much left to say...you have to know that you are probably one of the most gifted and incredible classes I have had the pleasure of teaching. We have had a great run and I am extremely proud of each and every one of you. Enjoy the last week of AP Bio...have fun with the dissection!
Only 2 weeks left...
I am very impressed with the care and quality of your lab work so far. I am looking forward to taking a read on how the final writes are.
Remember, we have changed the final assignments slightly...2 full lab write ups, 1 data collect set up and 1 dissection. Don't forget you also get an assignment grade for organization, cleaning up and
Not really a lot to say for us. I am so very proud of how you all handled the AP Exam this week. You took the test with great maturity and focus. You put in an incredible amount of work and no teacher on the planet could even have asked for anything more. Bravo and well done.
Now, all that is left is fun in the labs. Even the write ups are fun because you already know what to do. You know what to look for and you know what should happen. Enjoy the process, learn from it and take what you can from the labs over the next 4 weeks...it is always a great time.
Well, what can I say...we have made it to the goal this week. Sunday will be our last "class" for AP Biology. The rest of the year won't be empty and will actually take some work, but...it will be a great deal more fun than lectures.
Monday is the test
Tuesday is MAPS
Wednesday is lab intro
Thursday is lab discussions and prep
Now, I am not sure most of you read the blog but I am putting this out there just in case one of you does.
I am so very proud of each of you. I never imagined I would have such an incredible, motivated and truly gifted groups of students. No teacher could ever ask for a class as wonderful as you. It is because of classes like you that teachers stay teaching. You make me want to be a better teacher and to support your growth. I hope that in some small way I have helped you see the world in a new and exciting way. Anyways, I would say more and I will later...but really what I want to say is thank you so much for what you have given me this year.
Tuesday finish Nervous
Wednesday Test on Nervous
Sunday "Big Ideas"
Monday AP Exam 8 am
There isn't much time left (see below) and we still have a few things that we need to cover. This week I think we will get a practice day in, work on the Nervous system and you can also work on your test corrections. I know some of you will have the SATs on Saturday so I am making sure to give some distance from the next test.
Make sure you are studying and organizing your time. There is way too much to review in a short time, so make sure to space it out.
Even I am starting to get nervous about the AP Exam. It is getting closer and closer. We have to finish off the Endocrine Unit and still move onto Nervous, Embryology and maybe a little Ecology. We have to remember to go over the Big Ideas and the Labs as well. I always hate it when it starts getting close to the AP exam.
Not much time left...have you started to study? Have you begun to prep? If you haven't then you should. There are only a few weeks left until the exam. We are going to have to start moving along and see how far we can get. I believe that this week we will have an in class practice exam and start the second part of the physiology unit.
There will only be a couple tests before the exam and I may take the practice tests as a mark as well (curved and all that). I will also plan a Saturday for an additional exam but we will talk about that in class.
This is it, the end of another Quarter. You have just one more test for the Quarter, which means one more set of notes to work on too. Note cards are from the chapters on Digestion and Circulation (I believe Chapters 41 and 42?).
Great job so far this Quarter. We are nearing the end of it all and the exam is getting closer. Make sure to start studying and planning out your timing for it. Start out with smaller pieces, find your gaps and make sure not to stress out. If you want a book for over the break, please come and see me on Thursday to take one home to work with. I will also be putting some extra helpful books up for you to copy as well.
This week will go fairly quickly. There is not much going on except the test (and your work is due) and the start of the new unit.
So here is the break down on the week.
Sunday - Plants test
Monday - Animal Phys start
Tuesday - Animal Phys
Wednesday - Heart Lab (outside moving around)
Thursday - Animal Phys
Good luck on the test, make sure to start reading ahead on the animal stuff and start planning out your AP test studying
