On Monday we are going to restart CodeAcademy for a final day to see if the code work we just finished helped. I just want to see the difference it made.
On Tuesday we are going to start a little bit of work on Google Docs --> Forms for a fun assignment and an intro into an excel type plan. This will lead us into stock market work, so be ready!
5 blogs again this week (4 for soccer players). Same format as last week. 1 on a project (coding or forms), 1 google reader (Linked or you loose marks), 2 technology and 2 personal.
The next step
We are going to spend the next couple days trying out a little more with Google Docs. This is two days of build up towards using the Google Docs Spreadsheets for a fun project on the stock market. I talked before about it and how it is something very useful for when you get older (some of you may be able to do it now too!). First we need to play around with the spreadsheets a little to understand what they do.
A nice intro into the spreadsheets is to create Google Docs Forms. You can create online forms, embed them into your website and have people fill them out. All the data then gets passed into your Google Docs Spread sheet and you can play with the results. I wish I could stress how incredible this product is for adults and jobs, but you won't realize it until you have to use them. The are super cool and fun at the same time.
Basically, what we will do is create our own forms and have them in our websites. Everyone will be involved in completing the forms. The next class will be spent playing with the data and the spread sheet. Simple intro into spreadsheets and a new tool.
Big hint...this can be yet another extra credit lesson you can use to show teachers, so ask around!
