This week we are going to be building and playing with Google Documents. This is a particularly awesome feature of the Google set. I highly recommend using this in the future with many teachers because it allows for a lot of wonderful features. The assignment is going to be fairly simple this week, but in the next couple weeks will build up to another major assignment. The first part is going to take the first class to set up and get used to using.
You are going to be set up in groups of 3 (one group of 4). One person will be the leader of the group and they will create a new Google Doc. Within this doc you (the leader) will share the doc with each person in your group, as well as with myself. I will show you how to do this the first class. Once you get the permissions set up, play around with the document. Learn how to put comments into what each member has completed. Learn to see revisions and change what others have done. Remember that I will see each document and the changes that each person is making.
Next class we will be beginning a week assignment and this will eventually progress into a much more collaborative project. The best part about this is that the document is not stored on the computer. It is stored on the Google servers and you can edit them from any web device.
